The challenge

Komatsu faced significant challenges in managing their HR processes across multiple locations in India due to the lack of integration and automation. The primary issues included the need to integrate ESSL and ZKTECO biometric devices for accurate daily attendance tracking, provide a user-friendly self-service portal for employees to manage attendance, leave, and overtime requests, and automate the complex salary calculations incorporating overtime, leave deductions, and statutory compliance for Provident Fund (PF) and Employees' State Insurance (ESI). The existing manual processes were time-consuming, prone to errors, and inefficient, leading to delays in payroll processing and compliance risks.

What we built

Kirshi provided a comprehensive HRMS to address these challenges, featuring seamless integration with ESSL and ZKTECO devices for real-time attendance data collection and a web-based self-service portal enabling employees to manage their HR tasks efficiently. The system automated salary calculations, including overtime, leave, PF, and ESI, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The scalable cloud-based infrastructure supported high performance and large data volumes, while robust security measures and compliance features protected sensitive data and ensured adherence to labour laws. Kirshi's HRMS enhanced operational efficiency, improved employee satisfaction, and provided valuable insights for strategic HR decisions.

Outcome

The system went live on schedule and is in active use today. As with every Kirshi Technologies engagement, delivery was sprint-based with measurable milestones at each stage, and Komatsu retained full intellectual property ownership of all custom code from day one.
