SABRE — SABRE — Smart Pepper Spray with Live GPS Tracking

The challenge

A personal security product company that manufactures modern safety products for both commercial and direct consumer use sought our technical expertise. They had developed a smart pepper spray product along with a mobile application. When the pepper spray was activated, it would send alerts to trusted contacts and law enforcement agencies with the user's active location. However, their code base was outdated, and the application had numerous bugs that hindered its effective functionality.

What we built

Kirshi assessed the existing application and code base and recognised the necessity for a complete overhaul of the app's UI and codebase. The client had initially utilised React Native for cross-platform compatibility, but their codebase was an older version riddled with bugs. Our team upgraded the app to the latest version of React Native while modernising the UI and workflows. We ensured seamless operation between the device and the app to guarantee user safety. The app was successfully launched on both the App Store and Play Store, resulting in a growing user base. We are currently developing an admin-side dashboard to enable effective user base management. This collaboration is ongoing, with frequent updates aimed at enhancing user experience and safety.

Outcome

The system went live on schedule and is in active use today. As with every Kirshi Technologies engagement, delivery was sprint-based with measurable milestones at each stage, and SABRE retained full intellectual property ownership of all custom code from day one.
